The B.A. Rudolph Foundation is pleased to announce that Madeline Palmieri has joined its Board of Directors. Madeline is a student at New York University and a goddaughter of B.A. Rudolph, the organization’s namesake.

“As a current university student, I understand the stresses facing our scholars: balancing classes, extracurriculars, and internship opportunities — while also living your life, being a real person, doing what you’re passionate about, and fighting against oppression in any shape or form,” says Madeline. “More than ever before, women are stepping into leadership positions.  We need to encourage even more women to take up authority to keep making a positive change in the world. I’m ready to do that as the newest board member of the Foundation.”

Madeline studies political science, journalism, and graphic design at New York University (NYU). She is particularly interested in the relationship between American politics, the media, and the effects of ideological polarization in national elections. In addition to her studies, Madeline has worked with Let America Vote on the Virginia gubernatorial and delegate races, the BBC podcast PragueCast while living in Prague, and Art on the Block in Maryland, which empowers creative youth to imagine and shape fulfilling futures and contribute to the quality of life in their communities. She is a graduate of the communication arts program at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.

“We welcome Madeline to the team. She has been active with our organization for years and we’re truly excited to have her join the Board.” said Maggie Moore, co-founder and board member. “As the youngest board member she adds an important voice because when we involve the people who the organization serves and include their perspectives on decisions, we improve our mission and programs."
