The B.A. Rudolph Foundation announced on Friday, January 20, 2017 that they will be the beneficiaries of all proceeds from the sale of the song “Shine” by Pat Benatar and Linda Perry. Shine is an anthem, protest, and rallying cry for women’s rights to accompany the Women’s March on Washington on January 21st. The song is part of the Shine Together Movement, created to inspire women through song to support each other and affect positive change in government and the world.

“Even though I can’t be at the Women’s March on Washington in person, I wanted to show my support for everyone marching and the importance of standing up for women’s rights,” said Benatar. “By joining together and lifting each other up, we will show the world that women’s rights must continue to move forward – we’re not going back. The song is not anti- anyone, this is about unity and inclusion, and the incredible power that women wield – especially when we support each other.”

“We’re honored to partner with the Shine Together Movement to support women who want to change the world in a positive way,” said Rebecca Davis, one of the foundation’s three co-founders. “We extremely thankful for Pat Benatar and Linda Perry’s generous support of our scholarship programs.”

“Shine” will be released at www.ShineTogether.info and on major music platforms including iTunes, Google and Amazon on Friday, January 20, 2017. The song is priced at .69 cents to draw attention to the gender wage gap of women making less cents on the dollar compared to men. All proceeds from the song will be donated to the B.A. Rudolph Foundation, and 100 percent of donations go toward scholarships supporting women.
